LO1: Marketing and distribution

Marketing 
Marketing is the process of advertising/promoting a brand or product to attract more coverage and awareness this overall increasing and improving profit and reputation, its used to target a specific demographics.
Digital marketing is on social media sites such as twitter, instagram, facebook and can be seen as both above and below the line advertising.
Print marketing includes posters, billboards, leaflets.
Radio is also another way of marketing as adds can be played in between shows, e.g Sheffield Live would be a perfect radio due to it appealing to the Sheffield audience alongside it being relatively cheap.


Distribution
Distribution is where products are released and are able to be consumed by the target audience.
I could distribute my magazine in busy places in Sheffield such as The Showroom, this being known as a cultural hub, other places being Millenium Galleries, Student unions, coffee shops such as tamper, steamyard.


Specification
List of instructions,

Circulation
Circulation is the number of papers printed and released this could be used in the terms of how many magazines are in circulation.
Readership
Readership is how many magazines are being consumed and read
Frequency 
How often the magazine is released e.g monthly, weekly, quartly. This is based on your magazine genre.
Trim 
The printing margin and the areas that will be cut down to size in the printing process
Bleed 
The area beyond the trim and it will be removed after printing.
Safe Area 
Where the body copy and images go into and is central to the page.
