LO3: Contact sheet and evaluation

Contact Print from 1/2/19

This contact print was meant to be just a test shoot so i could assess the lighting, however i did end up taking some really suitable pictures that would appeal to my target audience and would fit my magazines genre.

I wanted to trial different locations and see how the lighting changed for example you can see in _IMG_9190, I have the model's back to the light source this made the picture have uneven lighting and created the focal point on the background more than on the model.

I found that images like _IMG_9207 would be really suitable for the front cover as the model can be seen very warm and welcoming, her body language is emphasising the coffee mug which works as an iconography plug for the exclusive on Create Coffee.
In images like _IMG_9191 I was shooting in landscape perspective this made all these images not suitable to be perhaps the main cover image of any page.

Contact Print from 15/3/19

In this contact print as you can see i took a lot more photos then the first practice shoot, I did however have trouble on this shoot due to me only bringing one lens, i would have found the process much easier if i had a variety of lenses meaning that I could have had more a variety of shot types.

My goal was to try and take images of Alan that could be main cover image worthy, you can see later on in the shoot i was attempting to photograph Alan in a portraiture style (_IMG_9564 - _IMG_9577) I found that for some of these images i had a low ISO which created underexposed images however for some of these images I managed to edit lighter and was able to use.
To fit into the genre of local magazine I tried to ensure that Alan wasn't wearing anything exaggerative and looked very normal to make him relatable as the genre unlike pop relies more on the ideology of relatability instead of star persona.
